Rituals of Remembering

A gathering place for queer contemplative practice, spiritual accompaniment, and community ecologies.

I’m so glad our paths have crossed.

I’m Robin Tejeda (they/all).

Rituals of Remembering grew from a longing to offer forms of contemplative practice, spiritual care, and community tending that are of the earth, on the ground, rooted in relationship, and responsive to the material conditions and collective crises of our time, while remembering the divine spaciousness of our beings.

I am a queer, gender-expansive person of mixed white Germanic and Jewish, Nuyorican, and Cuban ancestry, shaped by the creative adaptations, resilience, and ruptures of diaspora and living in the in-betweens. I came to Buddhist meditation and dharma as a young teenager growing up in Queens, New York through gateways of personal crisis and significant familial loss. Some of my earliest teachers were my own heartbreak, whispers in the wind through the trees, dandelions growing through sidewalk cracks, the aliveness of my own Queerness, and moments of playfulness and compassion between strangers waiting for the train. Long before I had verbal language for the vastness of contemplative practice, these ordinary encounters were already teaching me about impermanence, the resilient and responsive human heart, and remembering an innate freedom.

For more than 25 years, my dharma has been rooted in contemporary Indo-Tibetan Buddhist traditions, and I am an animist who moves through the world with reverence for the aliveness of all seen & unseen. I also tend relationship with my multicultural ancestral and magical traditions, including through ritual, spell work, plant magic and herbalism, and divination. Rather than understanding these paths as separate, I experience them as different yet interwoven technologies for coming into relationship with the many forms of intelligence that accompany us, a remembering of a birthright that modernity & coloniality has attempted to sever for so many of us. My spiritual practice has also always been inseparable from the work of collective liberation, and from examining how state violence, domination, and carceral conditioning live within our communities, our relationships, and ourselves.

Since moving to Colorado in 2007, the mountains have been some of my most enduring teachers. They continually invite me into relationship with land, Big Sky, the elements, the extremities of our seasons, the rapid impacts of ecological crisis, and the spirit worlds. They also ask me to practice with the awareness that I live as a settler on Arapaho, Cheyenne, and Ute lands, where my spiritual practice cannot be separated from the ongoing work of un-settling and Land Back.

Additionally, I have spent nearly a decade working with primarily queer and trans communities as a licensed therapist specializing in sex therapy, relationships, grief, and trauma. My vocational path has also included contemplative caregiving in disability care, elder care, and end-of-life care, as well as community-based consent culture educational work. I also teach graduate-level contemplative counseling, Buddhist psychology-informed coursework, meditation, and lead contemplative retreats in contemporary Tibetan traditions. While my clinical work remains distinct from Rituals of Remembering, each of these roles has deepened my understanding of relational presence, ethical & liberatory care, engaged & experiential pedagogy, and the practice of accompanying one another through life's thresholds.

My hope is that our time together supports a deepening relationship with yourself, your communities, and the more-than-human worlds, while cultivating the freedom, courage, and fierce compassion needed to participate in the ongoing work of collective liberation.

I'm honored to walk alongside you for whatever part of the journey we may share.

Offerings

A few ways that we might practice together.

Meditation & Dharma Practice

These sessions are for those seeking individualized support in establishing or deepening a meditation and dharma practice. Rooted in contemporary Indo-Tibetan traditions, I take a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and culturally responsive approach to shamatha-vipashyana meditation, honoring the unique experiences, questions, and longings each practitioner brings.

Rather than striving toward an transcendent meditation experience, we cultivate the capacity to meet whatever is arising with spaciousness, steadiness, and discernment. Together we explore meditation instruction, questions that arise through practice, working with body-heart-mind, integrating retreat experiences and spiritual emergence, and explore how contemplative practice can become a living expression of everyday life.

Spiritual Accompaniment

What is this moment of my life asking me to remember on the journey of becoming more fully myself?

Spiritual accompaniment is a relational space for tending the spiritual and existential questions that matter most to you as you move through life's personal and collective thresholds. Whether you're navigating grief, vocation, spiritual emergence, or profound change, we make room for whatever is moving through you, trusting that clarity unfolds through relational curiosity.

My approach is rooted in contemplative inquiry, spiritual care, and the practice of accompaniment. I don't approach this work as someone who has answers, but as a companion to your own unfolding, supporting discernment, integration, and the many questions that arise in a contemplative life. While informed by my experience as a therapist, spiritual accompaniment is not psychotherapy. Rather than focusing on mental health, these sessions support spiritual formation and your own meaning-making.

Looking for psychotherapy? My clinical practice is offered separately through Constellations of Connection.

Relational Divination

How do we listen for guidance when the next step yet isn’t clear?

Together we practice listening with the whole of our being, making space for the technologies of the body, imagery, ritual, dreams, and the more-than & beyond-human worlds to become part of the dialogue. Rather than seeking certainty or fixed answers, these sessions help cultivate your discernment and deepen relationship with the many ways guidance is already present in our lives.

This offering has been shaped by decades of personal study & practice in ritual, divination, magic, and plant work. This includes brujería and hedge witchery, spirit communications, tarot, dreamwork, spiritual herbalism, contemplative and somatic inquiry, and decolonial Akashic practice. Every session is different, unfolding in relationship with your questions, your own ways of knowing, and what is asking for your attention.

Queer Ecodharma Retreats & Community Practice

What becomes possible when we practice in relationship with one another, land, elements, and the unseen?

These community offerings and retreats create spaces for contemplative practice in community with each other and the more-than-human worlds. Whether gathering online or on the land, we draw on our unique wisdoms as Queer beings through meditation, experientials, movement & somatics, contemplative arts, ritual, silence, and dialogue.

Offerings include half-day and daylong practices along Colorado's Front Range, as well as residential retreats, with additional online offerings in the making.

I look forward to continuing to grow this community ecology in the seasons to come.
